TRADITIONS

  • NEDEILE
    These are festive occasions specific to each locality. Their date is set with many years in advance and usually accompany religious holidays (e.g. village church patron). On this occasion, local tidy up the households and village, preparing special dishes and receive guests. People dress in festive clothes and participate in rural celebration where singing, dancing and eating take place.
  • WEDDINGS
    They are a good opportunity for party and joy. The wedding ritual takes place over several days. First the groom, together with the magistrate, go to the godparents’ house and then all go to the bride’s house where future wife is asked from her parents. Then the whole procession passes through the streets of the village on their way to the church. After the religious ceremony wedding party begins. A good opportunity for fun and traditional customs.   • THE MEASUREMENT OF MILK
    It is a custom that has been practiced for hundreds of years before the start of grazing. Farmers bring the sheep to a meeting place, let them graze and after milk the sheep. Milk is measured and passed into the shepherd’s books. From now on, the shepherd must obtain from sheep that he received, the same amount of milk that the owner received. The entire accounting is encrusted with special signs on the shepherd’s rod and is valid until the end of the season. Before leaving with the flocks, the villagers feast, sing, dance and have a good time.
  • IESITUL IN TARINA
    Before the beginning of the wheat harvest, the whole community in the village, together with the priest come to the „tarina” (land with crops) to sanctify and bless the crops.
